ECOS Festival Internacional de Música Antigua de Sierra Espuña, jointly organised by Early Music Project, the Mancomunidad Turística de Sierra Espuña and the University of Murcia, is held annually in the municipalities of Aledo, Alhama de Murcia, Librilla, Mula, Pliego and Totana. During several days, different concerts are offered in emblematic enclaves of the territory, tourist and gastronomic experiences, dissemination and training activities, as well as children's concerts to bring early music to the youngest. In addition, activities are organised throughout the year.
ECOS aims to share early music with the environment, through the revaluation of its cultural and natural heritage, always under the brand of sustainable tourism. At the same time, it seeks to achieve high musical quality by attracting professionals of the early music scene both nationally and internationally, betting on young talent and the promotion of emerging groups.
ECOS Festival de Sierra Espuña is a member of Festclásica, the Spanish Association of Classical Music Festivals, as well as REMA, the European Early Music Network. It enjoys the collaboration of public institutions such as Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y la Música (INAEM), Acción Cultural Española AC/E, Instituto de las Industrias Culturales y las Artes (ICA), Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña (ESCMUC), Conservatorio Superior de Murcia and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). It also collaborates with Juventudes Musicales de España, having awarded an ECOS prize in the last edition of the national early music competition, and private enterprises as ElPozo, Obra Social La Caixa, Autocares Espuña, Bodegas Juan Gil and Iberchem.
